Duct and Evelope Testing
The states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware have now adopted the 2015 and 2018 International Energy Conservation Code which requires all newly constructed and renovated homes to have a mandatory duct and envelope testing. Envelope Testing refers to a blower door test and is done at the very final stage of construction. A duct leakage test is performed using a machine called a duct blaster and should be done before walls are closed. This way potential leaks can be addressed. We conduct these types of tests as well as air barrier and insulation audits.
We provide builders with the necessary paperwork to submit to the building inspectors in order to close out there building permits. Please refer below to the City of Philadelphia Duct and Envelope Testing form or click here to dowload it.
